Singer waxes lyrical over beauty of Queenstown

Australian singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem has heaped praise on ''breathtaking'' Queenstown during a visit to the resort.

The performer took to Twitter last night to share a picture of herself playing guitar barefoot at what appeared to be Jacks Point.

''Two favorite things music & nature as one,'' she tweeted.

And, responding to a fan's welcoming tweet back, Goodrem praised ''beautiful'' and ''breathtaking'' Queenstown.

''It's so beautiful!!!! ... Jus breathtaking xo,'' she tweeted back.

Goodrem was believed to be in Queenstown to perform at a wool growers' function at Jacks Point last night.

The event was also attended by Italian luxury clothing billionaire Pier Luigi Loro Piana and international journalists.

Goodrem's 2003 album Innocent Eyes remains one of the highest-selling in Australian history, with more than four million copies sold.

Her comments about Queenstown would also be widely read by the 426,000 fans following her on Twitter.
