A house in Matai Rd, Wanaka, was badly damaged by fire early this morning.
The two occupants escaped unharmed after being alerted by a passerby who saw flames coming through the roof just before 7am.
Two appliances and 25 members of the Wanaka Volunteer Fire Brigade attended.
