Credit card scam arrest in Queenstown

Police found hundreds of false credit, identity and loyalty cards while executing a search warrant in Queenstown today.

Acting Detective Sergeant Matt Jones said the search warrant, granted in relation to credit card scamming, also led to the discovery of equipment used in the manufacture of counterfeit cards.

A 26-year-old man has been arrested and charged with forgery. He is to appear in Queenstown District Court on Friday.

Inquiries are continuing, and anyone in the Queenstown area who has been a victim of credit card scamming should call the police on (03) 441 1600.
