Thousands of apples and pears will go under the knife at Rippon Hall, Wanaka, on Sunday in the Upper Clutha's annual autumn apple drive.
The Local Food Wanaka group has plans, and recipes, to turn the fruit in to chutney and fruit juice, and has invited the public to ''peel free'' to turn up with their fruit, jars, knives and chopping boards.
