Wanaka police keen to identify man

Wanaka police are trying to identify a man who may have followed two school-aged children last week.

He was seen around the Tenby St area about 4pm on Thursday, causing concerns for parents, the children involved and on social media sites.

The man was described as between 35 and 40 years old, with dark hair and a swept fringe.

He was wearing aviator type sunglasses, navy blue baggy jeans and holding on to empty New World plastic bags.

Detective Bryan Gillespie said while it was possible the unidentified man's actions were innocent, police wanted to speak with him to clarify the situation.
