Scottish driver arrested after tipoff

A Scottish man was allegedly caught driving with a breath-alcohol level of 908mcg after a member of the public called police.

Officers stopped the 20-year-old on Cameron Plc, Fernhill, at 6.14am yesterday. Sergeant Blair Duffy, of Queenstown, said police were told someone ''saw a male believed to be intoxicated getting into a vehicle''.

"It's a good call by a member of the public''.

Police also processed a 24-year-old Queenstown woman found driving on Friday with a breath-alcohol level of 400mcg.

Meanwhile, a 20-year-old British man was arrested early yesterday and charged with wilful damage after he allegedly kicked in an apartment door.
