Victoria Hillman (19), of Notovel Queenstown Lakeside, was named 2015 New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the Year in Auckland earlier this month.
She was tested on her personality, knowledge, presentation and ability to handle situations through a skill demonstration.
Novotel general manager Jim Moore said he was delighted for Miss Hillman.

Miss Hillman, who is studying for a diploma in hospitality management at the Queenstown Resort College, has only been employed by the hotel as a guest services agent for nine months.
In Vienna, she will be tested against up to 15 other national winners from leading hotels around the world.
