A group of about 30 volunteers took a 4WD trip into Skippers Canyon on Saturday afternoon to help replant the old cemetery.

Department of Conservation partnerships ranger Susie Geh said Nomad Safaris supplied two 4WDs to transport the volunteers, while the Shotover 4WD club also sent members along in support.

The planting was designed to revegetate the area which had recently been cleared of wilding pines.
