Tourist charged with disorderly behaviour

Queenstown police arrested one man and are searching for another after an incident at the Camp St McDonald's early this morning.

Sergeant Steve Watt said a 27-year-old man from the United Kingdom allegedly threw a container of straws to the floor of the takeaway outlet at 3am before hitting the cash register with his fist.

"The associate of this male has then ripped the cash register from the counter, damaging it and two Eftpos machines."

The 27-year-old was arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour.

This morning, police were still trying to locate his associate.

Earlier, a 30-year-old female woman was charged with drink-driving - allegedly blowing 726mcg.

Sgt Watt said the woman was stopped on Memorial St at 12.10am.

She had her licence suspended for 28 days and will appear in court later this month.

Last night, a 25-year-old man was given a pre-charge warning for throwing his drink at another man in anger, after his wife was asked to move.

Sgt Watt said the incident happened at a Queenstown pool bar at 10.30pm

The Channel Islands man was restrained by security staff.
