Wanaka singer-songwriter Jody Direen is looking forward to an exciting 2016 after being nominated for three Foxtel CMC Music Awards in Australia.

In addition to being up for the New Oz Artist of the Year, the same award she was nominated for in 2015, Jody is also in the running in two new categories: Female Oz Artist and Oz Artist of the Year.

Jody is the only Kiwi artist to be included at this year's awards.

Jody adds these latest nominations to a list of recent achievements, including winning Female Artist of the Year at the Country Music Awards NZ and Top Female Vocalist at the Variety Artist Club Awards. The CMC Music Awards will be held on March 10 in Brisbane.

Winners are chosen by public vote. Jody will perform at the CMC Rocks QLD Festival on March 12 alongside American country music stars Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and Kelsey Bellarini among other overseas and Australian talent on offer at Australasia's biggest international country and roots festival.

Her upcoming performance makes Jody the only artist to be invited to perform at CMC Rocks for three years in a row.

Continuing to make waves across the Tasman, Jody's latest single, Together, peaked at No 9 on the FoxteL CMC chart and remained in the top 10 for two weeks.

Together also made the top 10 for two weeks in the Official Australian National AirPlay Artist chart.

Since the successful release of her sophomore album Jody Direen Breaks Out in 2015, Jody has been writing her third album in between performing a host of sellout shows at home and in Australia.
