Former All Black Marc Ellis has challenged former team-mate Jeff Wilson to a round of cowpat-throwing.
Mr Ellis, one of Otago's favourite rugby sons, will return to Queenstown this weekend as a co-presenter for the New Zealand Rural Games, at Queenstown's Recreation Ground.
Last year, he reckons he thrashed Mr Wilson in the children's cowpat-throwing - three to one.
"If he's silly enough to come back this year it will probably be a whitewash to be honest,'' Mr Ellis said.
The hilarious Aucklander will be filmed taking on rural sports with co-presenter Mark Leishman.
Wood-chopping, cowpat-throwing, speed tree-climbing, gumboot-throwing, and cherry stone-spitting are among some of the uncommon events featuring at the games.
Mr Ellis' love for the more absurd rural events takes him back to his childhood.
Sonny Bolstad, a former New Zealand wood-chopping champion, was one of Mr Ellis' heroes when he was growing up.
"I met him at an event in the Kapiti Coast when I was 10, he was like New Zealand wood-chopping royalty - like [Sir Ed] Hillary to wood-chopping. He shaved his arm with his axe blade,'' Mr Ellis said.
However, it was not all podium finishes for Mr Ellis last year.
He was beaten by Wilson and ex-All Black Justin Marshall - who now lives in Queenstown - in the egg-throwing-and-catching competition.
Ellis said it was "most disconcerting''.
"I put that [the defeat] down to my partner ... I don't really want to name names in case they get ridiculed, but I think he needs to pull his socks up, put it that way.''
Mr Ellis said he was looking forward to coming back to Queenstown for round two.
"It's a beautiful place to go - the further south you go the better the people get.''
