Members of the E-Pacs Dragon and Lion Dance team, of Auckland, perform at Earnslaw Park in Queenstown yesterday, in celebration of the 2016 Lunar New Year.
The four dancers and five musicians were brought to Queenstown by Real Journeys and Aotea Gifts to perform four lion dances, which symbolise celebration and new beginnings and are believed by some people to bring good luck and prosperity.
As part of the performance the dancers handed out mandarins, a Chinese New Year symbol said to bring wealth and happiness.
