Volunteers at last month's Warbirds Over Wanaka International Airshow gave just under 10,000 hours of their time, saving the airshow up to $150,000.
General manager Ed Taylor said the airshow "simply couldn't go ahead'' without the support of volunteers.
The show was also "very fortunate'' about 75% of volunteers returned for each show.
