Time to start work on wearable creations

Although it is still six months until this year's Wanaka Wearable Creation Show, artists and models are being reminded to begin preparing their costumes and routines.

Show director Anna Mackay said about three-quarters of the entries required had been received for October's show, with another five groups still to decide.

Ms Mackay said a trust was being set up to ensure the event's future.

Above is one of the 22 entries in the last show, in 2014.

The winged outfit, made by the Albert Town creative group, was modelled by Lesley Johnston.

The three 2014 shows, plus a children's matinee, sold out.
