Pledge rewarded

Households and workplaces which pledge to reduce their electricity demand at home will be able to pick up free energy-saving light bulbs from the Queenstown Lakes District Council.

Ecobulb claims the average home fitted with the energy-saving bulbs can save up to $2300 of energy costs over the life of the bulbs and also the 20W Ecobulbs are 20% brighter than the 100W incandescent bulbs they replace.

Under the limited offer, each pledge earns a list of the top 10 tips for energy reduction.

Queenstown Eco adviser Christina Newman will also be available to provide advice on how to reduce energy consumption at home through the Eco Design Adviser service, which provides up to two hours' free energy-, water- and material-related advice on residential projects and buildings.

• To book a free consultation with Ms Newman, call 027 583-7444 or email christina@sustainablewanaka.co.nz.

Pledge forms and free light bulbs are located at the Queenstown Library and the Queenstown Lakes District Council's main office on Gorge Rd.
