A 53-year-old Briton has been charged over the late-night
stabbing of a camper near Queenstown.
The man was arrested following a confrontation with two men
cooking in the kitchen at Glenorchy Holiday Park early Sunday
morning.
The argument escalated into a confrontation, and one of the
cooks was stabbed twice, once in the chest and once in the
stomach, Queenstown Detective Sergeant Graham Bartlett said.
The Englishman was remanded in custody until March 22 after
appearing in Queenstown District Court today accused of with
wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and
assault with a weapon.
Mr Bartlett said the stabbed man's condition had improved
today and he was expected to be released from hospital in the
next few days.
