A 33-year-old Chinese man was arrested following an alleged assault on a woman in Queenstown on Friday at 7.53pm.

Late Night 'n' Day thieving

At 11am on Thursday, two men stole a cask of cider and a bottle of wine from the Camp St Night 'n Day.

A 22-year-old Frenchman was arrested after he allegedly stole $22.70 worth of cheese and nuts from Fresh Choice at 6.31pm on Tuesday. He was released with a pre-charge warning.

Raucous behaviour

At 7.30pm on Saturday a 21-year-old New Zealand man was a passenger in a vehicle travelling through Queenstown when an unknown man pulled off one of the windscreen wipers.

At 4.15pm on Tuesday the driver of a car travelling on the Glenorchy Rd lost control in road works and hit a rocky bank. There were no injuries.

A "highly intoxicated" 20-year-old Mexican man living in Queenstown was punched in the face a prank failed to impress a woman's partner.

Early morning disputes cause trouble for taxi

Inquiries are continuing after Queenstown police received a complaint on Saturday at 3.40am. Sergeant Steve Watt, of Queenstown, said a taxi driver picked up a couple and took them to a Frankton Rd address, where they began to argue about the fare.

At 9.30pm on Tuesday, two vehicles were travelling towards Queenstown on the Devil's Staircase, when the front vehicle slowed down to pull into a lay-by.

A 27-year-old Queenstown man filled his Toyota with around $20 of petrol at Gorge Road Caltex at 5.30pm on Tuesday and then refused to pay.

A Queenstown Hill farmer shot two black Labradors which were worrying sheep on his property on Thursday at 5pm.
