Deputy police commissioner Mike Bush says New Zealanders
should be "acknowledged and congratulated" for their
responsibility with alcohol and driving before New Year
celebrations.
The Commerce Commission has ordered the operators of the
Night'n Day shop in the Octagon to remove, or cover, alcohol
advertisements on the windows until the shop has a liquor
licence.

trouble are unwanted, after she joined Queenstown police on
the beat overnight on Saturday.

police are needed on streets, according to some public and
private operators in the resort who were surveyed by students
from the University of Otago.
