of female pursuiters of all time with a record-breaking
effort at the Oceania track cycling championships in
Invercargill last night.

Alison Shanks set themselves up for another super-fast night
on the second day of the Oceania Track Cycling Championships
in Invercargill.
Dunedin cyclist Alison Shanks came within a blink of
regaining her rainbow jersey on the third night of finals at
the world track cycling championships in The Netherlands.
Dunedin's Alison Shanks and Feilding's Jesse Sergent will be
favourites to win respectively, the inaugural national
women's and men's track rider of the year award.
