While Dunedin's population of native wood pigeons, or kereru,
is considered "fairly healthy", more information on the
extent of the birds would be welcomed by the city's kereru
rescue project.

and the Government should intervene and set easily-enforced
standards to fight contamination of waterways and
groundwater.

extinct Haast's eagle to its natural habitat in Otago and
Southland and has sought Wanaka Community Board support for
