A Bay of Plenty man accused of murdering his partner after
finding her in bed being kissed by another man has had his
plea to her manslaughter accepted at the High Court in
Rotorua this morning.
Twenty-two-year-old Phillip Bruce Ray Bannan is in custody
awaiting sentence in the High Court at Christchurch after
admitting two deaths caused by his dangerous driving.
Bail has been refused for a 22-year-old driver now facing
manslaughter charges for allegedly killing two people in a
Christchurch crash after fleeing from a police traffic stop.
Two south Auckland caregivers who regularly assaulted an
intellectually impaired woman, then left her without medical
help for several days until she died, have been sentenced to
a total of 23 years in jail.
