Paris Hilton is suffering a new bout of cellphone drama. The
heiress-turned-TV star reportedly lost two mobile devices on
a flight to the Philippines for a visit to promote a hotel
resort.
Police detained a man who tried to grab the boyfriend of
Paris Hilton Wednesday as the couple arrived at a courthouse
to testify against a suspect in an attempted break-in at her
home last year.
A break-in at Paris Hilton's Los Angeles home has led to a
New York lawsuit over $US60,000 in borrowed gems. A
jeweller's insurer says the celebrity socialite simply held
on to them after police gave them back to her.
Hallmark Cards Inc says a greeting card using Paris Hilton's
"that's hot" catch phrase and image was meant as a parody.
But the celebrity socialite apparently didn't appreciate the
humour.
Paris Hilton can still sashay down red carpets and hit the
club scene but she better not step outside the law for the
next year after pleading guilty to misdemeanour charges
stemming from her cocaine arrest last month at a Las Vegas
resort.
Las Vegas police are defending Paris Hilton's quick release
from jail after her August 27 arrest on suspicion of cocaine
possession, saying they wanted to avoid disruptions in the
jail's operations.
