New Zealand's $1.5 billion kiwifruit export industry was
threatened with "extinction" last year after being hit hard
by bacterial infection, but University of Otago biochemist
Associate Prof Russell Poulter now believes the industry will
survive.
District health boards say progress is being made in
negotiations with various health unions following the
rejection of the boards' offer last month by nine out of the
10 unions involved in combined negotiations.
The Public Service Association says it shares a judge's
frustration over industrial action by Ministry of Justice
staff, but says it will continue until formal negotiations
with the ministry restart.
