Turangi horsewoman Cheyenne Church has shown it is in the genes when it comes to rodeo.

New Zealand barrel racing champion Angie Perkins, of Wanaka, was thrilled to win her event in front of a large and supportive home crowd at Wanaka Rodeo's new arena yesterday.

Anthony Perkins, of Gore, displays the style which saw him win the rope and tie event at the Lawrence Rodeo on Saturday.

Ringo must be thanking his lucky stars.

A crowd of about 2000 people - well up on last year's turnout - enjoyed the entertainment at yesterday's Millers Flat Rodeo.
