Northern Mystics were pushed hard by Southern Steel before
emerging with a 49-45 win from their seventh round
trans-Tasman netball league match in Dunedin on Sunday.
Steel captain Jodi Brown was sporting a few new bruises after
a physical encounter with the West Coast Fever at the Lion
Foundation Arena on Saturday afternoon.
It could be a tricky season for the Southern Steel, which
has lost some key players as well as long-serving coach Robyn
Broughton. But, as netball writer Adrian Seconi discovers,
the team is quietly confident it can surprise.
