Students will be able to party until midnight at Forsyth Barr
Stadium this Orientation Week after the Dunedin City Council
agreed to change an earlier decision restricting events to an
11.30pm finish.
The Otago University Students' Association would think twice
about holding Orientation Week events at Forsyth Barr Stadium
if the Dunedin City Council sticks with an 11.30pm cut-off
time.
Where is the Dunedin City Council with its budget and how
much the stadium is costing the council and ratepayers? The
deputy chairman of the finance committee, Cr Richard Thomson,
explains the official council view while council critic
Calvin Oaten adds up all the costs as he sees them.
Despite criticism of the sound quality at Forsyth Barr
Stadium during the Hollies concert, event promoters and
stadium managers remain confident the venue can, and will,
continue to host major musical productions.
Preferential tickets to the Paul Simon concert are available
to Otago residents from today. Prices for tickets to the Rock
and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and 12-time Grammy Award
winner's concert are $99 for silver reserve seating and $149
for gold reserve seating.
