The Dunedin City Council will investigate options to improve
safety on a steep, winding and narrow Dunedin street, after a
car pulling over for an ambulance nearly went over the edge
on Thursday night.
Balclutha retailers had been "tortured for years" over the
proposed Balclutha traffic strategy and needed some answers,
Cr Mary Johnstone said at yesterday's Clutha District Council
meeting.
Police and Downer EDI Works contractors in Queenstown were
kept busy yesterday morning as treacherous black ice quickly
formed on State Highway 6 between Arrowtown and Frankton.
