Sensitive information about the New Zealand Department of
Prime Minister and Cabinet and other New Zealand agencies may
be at risk after its US host was hacked.
US intelligence firm Stratfor had its website hacked by
activist group Anonymous on Monday (New Zealand time) and
data, including credit card details of its clients, was
stolen.
Stratfor's high-profile clients include the US Defence
Department and the US Air Force, Apple and Microsoft, and New
Zealand's Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC).
A DPMC spokesman told Radio New Zealand the department was
confident none of its information was at risk, but was
looking into whether anything had been compromised.
Other Stratfor clients are reported to include the New
Zealand Police, New Zealand Fire Service and Air New Zealand.
