Detectives hope toxicology and pathology tests will shed
light on what caused the deaths of a married couple whose
bodies lay undiscovered in their expensive Sydney home for
weeks.
Police say the husband and wife, both 54, probably died "a
number of weeks" before their bodies were found at their
northern beaches home on December 7.
Emergency services were called to the property on secluded
Gilwinga Street, Bayview, responding to concerns for the
welfare of the pair.
There were no apparent suspicious circumstances but
investigators on Tuesday said they were awaiting the results
of toxicology and pathology tests before preparing a report
for the coroner.
The couple's next of kin have still not been located and
notified, almost a fortnight after the gruesome discovery.
News Limited reports the couple were "reclusive" and one
neighbour had never seen the woman, though she and her
husband had lived in the palatial home for 20 years.
Properties in the street come with multi-million-dollar price
tags and one real estate agent described the cul-de-sac as
"coveted".
