Vic woman faces court over murder

A Victorian woman charged with the murder of missing man Douglas Kally has fronted court, as sobbing relatives watched on.

Angela Williams, 43, of the beachfront town of St Leonards, appeared stony-faced at the Melbourne Magistrates court today as the family of the victim cried and hugged each other.

Williams was charged with the murder of Mr Kally, 48, on Friday after Victoria Police discovered human remains in a residential backyard.

The offence is alleged to have occurred in July 2008 at Indented head, southwest of Melbourne.

Her lawyer Brendon James told the court that Williams, who is in custody, had been medicated for anxiety and depression.

"The accused has a long-standing issue of anxiety and depression and is being seen by a doctor," he said.

The remains, which are yet to be identified, were found following two days of digging in a backyard that was understood to be Mr Kally's last known address, at Indented Head.

Mr Kally, a father of five who was also known as Dragon Dordevic, was reported missing by his family in October 2008, having told them he was moving to NSW.

Outside court, Mr Kally's brother Danny Dordevic said dealing with the loss had been "tough".

"We love him heaps, wish we had more time to get together and go fishing," he told journalists.

"(I) boiled when I saw her (the accused)."

Williams is next due at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on April 29.
