The death of a 25-year-old Coorparoo man south of Brisbane
brings the holiday road toll to 23.
The man was struck by a truck on the Logan Motorway at
Berrinba, near Logan, south of Brisbane, about 9.35pm (local
time) yesterday, police said.
Preliminary information suggests the man's car was parked on
the side of the road, possibly broken down, and he was struck
by a passing truck while standing on the roadway, a police
statement said.
The man died at the scene, bringing the Queensland holiday
road toll to two and the national toll to 23.
The driver of the B-double truck was not injured.
