Police have labelled a driver an idiot after causing an
accident while driving at seven times the legal blood alcohol
limit.
After crashing with another car in the Adelaide suburb of
Plympton Park on yesterday morning, the 28-year-old woman
recorded a breath test of 0.349 - almost seven times over the
legal limit.
She was reported for drink driving, disobeying traffic lights
and aggravated due care and immediately lost her licence for
12 months.
In a press release, South Australian police described the
woman, from Marion, as an "idiot".
"With all the education that is offered about drink driving
we still have motorists who actively make the choice to put
the lives of other roads users at risk," Superintendent Bob
Fauser said.
"Driving while affected by drugs or alcohol is a crime and a
crime that causes violence and harm to innocent people
including our children."
Police said alcohol contributes to around 30 per cent of all
South Australia's road deaths.
