The national holiday road toll remains at 31.
The latest death occurred in Western Australia late on
Saturday night, when the driver of a Toyota Land Cruiser
crashed into a tree and the vehicle caught fire south of
Perth shortly before 11pm (local time).
Boxing Day has been the worst day so far, with seven people
dying, five in NSW alone.
NSW heads the road toll with eight dead, followed by Victoria
on seven, WA on six, South Australia on four, Queensland on
four, and Tasmania on two. The ACT and Northern Territory are
so far fatality free.
