Girl stabbed in cheek with scissors

A girl has been stabbed in the cheek with a pair of scissors by another girl during an argument at a school in Sydney's southwest.

Police say the incident occurred when an argument broke out between the two girls, both 14, at a school in Peakhurst about 11.15am yesterday.

The wounded girl was taken to St George Hospital, where she is in a stable condition.

Police arrested the other girl at her home and charged her with reckless wounding.

Conditional bail was granted and she is due before Sutherland Children's Court on March 5.
