A NSW dad was drink-driving and speeding during an afternoon
school run, police allege.
Officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command at
Lithgow allegedly clocked the man driving at 60 km/h through
a 40 km/h school zone at 3pm yesterday.
They pulled him over and the man complied but it's alleged he
nearly crashed into the police vehicle as he tried to park
The 38-year-old told officers he was on his way to pick up
his two children from school.
It's alleged a road-side breath test proved positive and a
later test at Lithgow Police Station returned a reading of
The 38-year-old was charged with exceeding the speed limit
and driving with a high-range prescribed concentration of
alcohol, and his licence was suspended.
He's been granted conditional bail to appear at Lithgow Local
Court on October 3.
