A 14-year-old boy has died after the motorised bicycle he was
riding crashed into a car when he allegedly sped through
police attempts to stop him.
Police say a critical incident investigation team will
examine the circumstances surrounding the crash in Miller in
Sydney's southwest about 9.15pm (AEDT) on Tuesday.
They say officers from Green Valley Local Area Command
allegedly tried to stop the teen when they spotted him riding
the motorised bike without lights on Southdown Street.
Moments later, the bicycle collided with a vehicle travelling
on Banks Road.
The teenager suffered serious head injuries and was taken to
Liverpool Hospital, where died shortly after midnight.
