The body of a 38-year-old man reported missing at sea south
of Perth has been recovered and may have been bitten by a
shark, police say.
The man was reported missing by his friends on the weekend
while recreational diving in the Dawesville area on Saturday.
On Wednesday, after extensive searches for the man, Water
Police divers found what is believed to be his remains close
to the dive site.
"Initial investigation indicates the male may have received
shark bites," police said.
"The friends did not observe any attack and the cause of
death is unclear at this stage."
Further investigation will be undertaken, police said.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
