NSW mum charged over daughter stabbing

An elderly woman who allegedly stabbed her middle-aged daughter in the stomach during an argument has been charged.

The 76-year-old and her 39-year-old daughter were allegedly arguing at a home in Kirrawee, in Sydney's south, on Friday night at the time of the alleged attack.

"It's alleged during this argument the woman stabbed her daughter in the stomach with a knife," a police spokesperson said.

The 39-year-old woman was taken to St George Hospital, where she is in a stable condition following surgery.

Her mother has been charged with one count of reckless wounding and granted conditional bail.

She is listed to appear at Sutherland Local Court in early November.
