Teenager charged after Melbourne fires

A teenager is to face court accused of setting two fires in Melbourne.

Police said the fires were started in two separate areas of grassland in Campbellfield late last night.

Officers stopped a car shortly after the second fire and arrested the 19-year-old driver.

He has been bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday to face charges of recklessly cause a bushfire, lighting a fire endangering property and leaving a fire.

No one was injured in the fires, and no property was damaged.
