Man stabbed with bottle in Sydney's south

A man has been stabbed with a broken bottle during a brawl outside a restaurant in Sydney's south but is refusing to assist police.

Police were called to the restaurant at Brighton-Le-Sands just before 10.30pm on Saturday but the two groups of men who had been fighting fled before officers arrived.

A short time later, a 29-year-old man was driven to St George Hospital with stab wounds to his chest, head and arm.

Police believe the Guildford man was stabbed with a glass bottle during the altercation outside the hotel.

A crime scene has been established but police say the injured man and his friends are refusing to assist police with their inquiries.
