A man is feared missing after going for a swim on the far north coast of NSW.
A man described as being in his 60s and with a profound limp to his left leg was seen entering the surf at Yamba about 12.15pm on Sunday, but his belongings, including a hat and towel, were still on the beach several hours later.
Police interviewed several witnesses and life guards, but no one had seen the man return from the surf.
A search of the area and water found nothing and no one has been reported missing, but police have appealed for the man or anyone with information to contact them.
