Police find body of NSW teacher

A crime scene has been set up in bushland in the NSW Riverina region after the body of Stephanie Scott was discovered.

Ms Scott, 26, was allegedly murdered on Easter Sunday - six days before she was due to marry her fiance.

Police have spent the past few days searching for her remains after 24-year-old Vincent Stanford, a cleaner at her workplace, Leeton High School, was arrested and charged with murder.

On Friday at 5pm, officers discovered her body in Cocoparra National Park, north of Griffith.

It comes after divers searched a irrigation canal outside of Leeton on Friday and found Ms Scott's laptop.

Witnesses had told police they saw a man throw an object in the canal on Easter Sunday.

The teacher's family will hold a picnic on Saturday to mark what should have been the happiest day of Ms Scott's life - her wedding day.

The Leeton community has been asked to wear yellow when they turn out to Mountford Park at lunchtime.
