Murder charges after three NSW deaths

A man has been charged with the murders of two people following the discovery of three bodies on a rural NSW property.

A 61-year-old man was taken in for questioning on Sunday afternoon, two days after a 28-year-old man, a 59-year old man believed to be his father and a 36-year-old woman were found dead at a property at Hermidal, west of Nyngan, in central NSW.

The younger man, who lived at the property, and the woman had been shot while the older man's body was found in a burnt caravan.

Police said early on Monday that a post-mortem examination would be conducted in the coming days to determine the cause of the older man's death.

Media reports suggest one side of the caravan was destroyed and locals reported hearing an explosion, however forensic experts are working to determine what happened.

The arrested man has been charged with two counts of murder and been refused bail to appear before Dubbo Local Court on Monday.
