Three children burned in Perth attack

Three children have suffered burns after a man allegedly poured a flammable liquid over them and set them alight at a home in Perth.

Police say officers were called to the Doubleview home at around 12.05am on Saturday on reports of a man creating a disturbance.

They were told that liquid had been poured inside the home and three children set on fire.

An off-duty female officer entered the home and took the children to a nearby residence to provide emergency first aid.

A man was taken into custody at the scene.

Two of the children, a boy and a girl, were taken to Princess Margaret Hospital and are being assessed for burns related injuries.

Another girl with more extensive burns was taken to Royal Perth Hospital.

Police said early on Saturday that the extent of all the injuries was not known.

The home and parts of the street have been cordoned off as forensics officers investigate.
