Man charged over wild Sydney house party

An 18-year-old has been charged after an ambulance was doused in petrol at a Sydney house party.

Emergency services who were helping a boy who'd fallen into a bonfire at the Rossmore party late on Saturday night were confronted by a pack of drunken teens who refused to let them put out the blaze, and one allegedly poured fuel over an ambulance.

The 14-year-old was taken to hospital with burns to his face after falling into the fire, with police called after partygoers became aggressive and tried to stop firefighters extinguishing the bonfire.

Several hours later, a paramedic called police again when he returned to the house to collect his ambulance, and found someone had poured petrol over it.

An 18-year-old man arrested at the scene will face court on May 26 charged with destroying property, police say.
