Jihadist's wife due to be sentenced

The Sydney widow of Islamic State fighter Mohamed Elomar is expected to be sentenced on Friday, after she admitted supporting his involvement in armed hostilities in Syria.

Fatima Elomar pleaded guilty to one count of supporting foreign hostile acts last year after she was stopped at Sydney airport as she tried to board a plane in 2014.

It's believed her jihadist husband was killed in a drone strike on the Islamic State's self-declared capital of Raqqa last year.

He had gained notoriety after posing for pictures with severed heads.
