Four arrested over highrise jump

Four daredevils who parachuted from a crane perched on top of a Brisbane highrise have been nabbed after a stunned witness called police.

Three men and a woman leapt from the crane, atop a 41-storey building that's still under construction, just before 10pm yesterday.

Police say the group probably believed they had got away with their dangerous stunt, but officers tracked them down after a resident witnessed the leap and raised the alarm.

The group landed safety in the Botanical Gardens and fled over the Goodwill Bridge, but police arrested them soon afterwards on Lower River Terrace in South Brisbane.

The three men, aged 29, 31, and 33, and the woman, 24, will appear in court on August 10.

They have been charged with participating in an unregulated high risk activity.
