While at Oreti beach swimming with my kids this afternoon I
noticed a large smoke plume coming from across town - for a
drive we went!
It was a large tyre fire on the outskirts of Invercargill, at
about 4pm the emergancy crews arrived.
Smoke can be seen throughout the city.
Just as I took the photo an explosion within the fire sent a
large flock of birds scattering.....
