On our last weekend of visiting Dunedin from South Africa I
slipped on a wet grassy slope and suffered severe damage to
my left ankle.
Within 15 mins I was in the St Johns ambulance en route to
Dunedin public hospital emergency wing. There I was literally
overwhelmed by the attention of the staff at all levels. I
lost count at 26 of the personnel attending to me over a span
of 4 hours including x-ray dept. Royal treatment indeed.
The next morning I underwent surgery and had my ankle pinned
together with wires and plates. Subsequent post-op care at
ward 3C orthopedic ward, in all aspects, a daily exhibition
of unobtrusive, expeditious charm and grace of the truly
dedicated.
Well done all, you made me feel good-the center of attention.
I thank you.
At 74, a veteran of some 11 procedures and a past member of
the campaign for credible edibles, I can only congratulate
the catering team on their innovative menus. Very pleasant.
It made a great difference to my well-being as one does
appreciate the logistics involved.
Finally, a heartfelt thanks to Dunedin Public Hospital for
the outstanding quality of their services. The Dunedin public
is surely in good hands.
Yours Sincerely
Stanley Goodlad-Hall.
