Nasa has again postponed the launch of its high pressure balloon from Wanaka Airport.

Everything was in place for a launch this morning, and Nasa was waiting for a slight breeze to drop before making the attempt.

The balloon and its payload were on the runway in readiness, but the launch was called off about 7.30am.

The balloon will carry scientific equipment to an altitude of 33.5km, where it is hoped it will remain for up to 100 days.

It is expected to fall back to earth in South America.
